HDLS II is a refresher course on hospital disaster management response principles for physicians, critical care/emergency nurses, physicians extenders, paramedics, hospital administrators, protective services, and emergency preparedness staff that want to renew their HDLS certificate. The course combines classroom review of key points from the original course and new information available on critical “all-hazards” response issues . This course again includes actual hands-on competency evaluations for CBRNE topics and exercises pertaining to conventional and chemical, mass casualty incidents (MCI). An actual emergency department setting will be utilized by the participants to practice disaster management concepts and procedures discussed in class. The course has an on-line educational component composed of 10 modules.
